About Dr. John A. King
Dr. John A. King is a prominent, gregarious, sought-after conference, business and church speaker. He is usually characterized by friends and colleagues as one of the most powerful and passionate speakers on leadership, men's and value-based issues. Dr. King's impact as a communicator is far reaching. He has touched people all over the world through corporate seminars, television shows and his books. He is the Founder and President of the publishing company Guy Thing Press. Dr. King and his wife, Beccy, founded the International Men's Network and have overseen its growth and development personally. The International Men's Network has representatives in 30 nations around the world. The IMN was affiliated with Dr. Ed Cole, one of three prominent mentors who have overseen the unfolding of Dr. John King's ministry over the last fifteen years. In 2005, Dr. King was asked to take over International Christian Men's Institute, what was Dr. Cole's Christian Men's Network. Dr. King and his wife, Beccy, were on staff at Hillsong Church for 9 years doing various things. Pastor Brian and Bobbie Houston had the most profound impact on them as a young couple. Dr. King traveled with Ps. Brian Houston for years and had the privilege of spending many hours with them in their home and around the world. Ps. Houston is still the biggest influence in his life in terms of shaping his early ministerial personality and leadership style. Pastor Brian Houston in Sydney challenged Dr. King to pioneer a community-based youth ministry that became an important factor in the phenomenal growth of Hillsong Church. With each new week, the ministry touched and significantly impacted the lives of 1,000 unchurched young Australians. Moving into a close association with Pastor Frank Houston, Dr. King oversaw the vast majority of activities at what is now Hillsong Church, Sydney Worship Centre. While there, this large inner city church grew by 50%. With a vision for this kind of revolutionary expansion of the Kingdom, Dr. King became the Assemblies of God Director of Church Planting in Australia's most populous territory. He helped facilitate the establishment of more than 75 churches between 1997 and 2000. At the same time, Dr. King was bringing Next Foundation to fruition. The Foundation, of which Dr. John King is the Founder and President, is a "prophetic catalyst". That is, Next Foundation aims to facilitate the Church's progress "from where it is, to where God is going to be." Across churches, business, and communities, Next Foundation is committed to its role as a dynamic influence on future generations of Christian leadership. Dr. King felt a strong call as a missionary to the United States of America. A trained agricultural systems specialist, Dr. King believes that God desires an urgent and mighty harvest across the USA. "I want to see America come into all that God has destined it to be." Hallmarks of Dr. King's ministry besides his proven leadership gift are the powerful prophetic and healing ministries that manifest wherever he goes. He has seen many thousands saved and healed, and at the same time seen hundreds released into moving in the power of God themselves. Dr. King is pastor of the Christian Life Center in Keller, Texas. The Christian Life Center is a church devoted to bringing a living Jesus to a dying world, and is home to IMN offices and the IMN ministry center.
